Davey Foundation Offers Grants for Short Films; Deadline July 5
This year’s edition of the Davey Foundation Short Film Grants—which annually bestow grant packages to shorts filmmakers—comes with a first. Founded in 2013, in past years only short films made by those 35 and under were eligible for submission. That age cap’s been removed for this year’s edition. Judged only on a script basis, four grants will be awarded: two national grant winners receive $5,000 in cash, the third $2500 cash plus use of a film gear package. Davey Foundation Offers Grants for Short Films; Late Deadline May 15
In years past, we’ve highlighted the Davey Foundation’s annual grant for short films, and while we missed posting about this year’s edition in time for the regular deadline, the late deadline of May 15 still applies. This year, three $5,000 grants are being offered; one includes a gear incentive package, while another also offers a $2,500 Utah filmmaker grant. This is the festival’s fifth year; past recipients have included Lauren Wolkstein’s Beemus, It’ll End in Tears and Fry Day, by 2017 25 New Face of Film Laura Moss. Davey Foundation Offers Grants for Short Films; Deadline March 15
From filmmaker and Davey Foundation board member Dustin Guy Defa comes word of the upcoming deadline for the Davey Foundation, which will give three grants to filmmakers 35 years and younger for the production of short films.
