Five years after making her debut as writer/director with the highly acclaimed, Academy Award-nominated Away From Her, actress Sarah Polley returns with her long-awaited sophomore feature. A tender, beautifully sketched relationship drama, Take This Waltz tells the story of pretty Toronto-based writer Margot (Michelle Williams), whose quiet life with her husband Lou (Seth Rogen) in the sun-dappled suburbs is disrupted when she meets and forms a connection with Daniel (Luke Kirby) while on a research trip — only to discover that he lives on the same street as her. The performances of the three leads are excellent (particularly from the ever-wonderful Williams), and this beautifully observed, incredibly human film consolidates Polley as one of the finest young filmmakers around.
