TIFF 2023 Documentary Lineup Includes Films by Frederick Wiseman, Errol Morris, Roger Ross Williams and More
On Monday, TIFF announced the gala and special presentation titles for this year’s festival, which runs from September 7 through 17. Now the documentary slate has been revealed, which includes 93-year-old veteran filmmaker Frederick Wiseman’s French restaurant doc Menus-Plaisirs Les Troisgros, Errol Morris’s John le Carré exploration The Pigeon Tunnel, Roger Ross Williams’s anti-blackness investigation Stamped From the Beginning, co-directors Caroline Suh and Cara Mones’s Louis C.K. takedown Sorry/Not Sorry, Pierre-Henri Gibert’s Agnès Varda tribute Viva Varda! and more. Venice Film Festival Unveils 2023 Lineup
After TIFF’s first wave lineup announcement yesterday, the lineup now arrives for the 80th edition of the Venice Film Festival, which will take place from August 30 through September 9. Last week, it was revealed that Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers would be pulled from the festival due to talent (namely Zendaya) being unable to attend due SAG-AFTRA strike rules. Originally programmed as the festival’s opening night selection, Edoardo de Angelis’s Comandante will now kick off the fest. Submissions Now Open for Inaugural FILM FEST KNOX, Including the American Regional Film Competition
Critic, curator and sometime Filmmaker Magazine contributor Darren Hughes is the Artistic Director of the new FILM FEST KNOX, which will be holding its inaugural edition from November 9 to 12, 2023. TIFF Announces First Wave of 2023 Programming With 60 Gala and Special Presentation Titles
The Toronto International Film Festival unveils today 60 titles programmed for the 2023 edition’s gala and special presentation sections. Taking place from September 7-17, TIFF’s first wave lineup announcement encompasses 37 World Premieres, seven International Premieres, 12 North American Premieres, and four Canadian Premieres. 2023 Venice Classics Lineup Includes The Exorcist, Andrei Rublev, Days of Heaven and More
With the full Venice Immersive slate announced yesterday, the Venice Classics lineup has now been revealed ahead of the 80th edition of the Venice International Film Festival. Curated by Alberto Barbera in collaboration with Federico Gironi, this year’s Venice Classics slate features newly restored versions of William Friedkin’s The Exorcist, Terrence Malick’s Days of Heaven, Agnès Varda’s The Creatures and much more. Film at Lincoln Center Announces Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla as the 61st New York Film Festival’s Centerpiece Selection
Sofia Coppola’s biopic Priscilla will serve as the centerpiece selection at the 61st edition of the New York Film Festival, taking place this year from September 29 through October 15. The film, which will be distributed by A24 later this year, will have its North American premiere at Alice Tully Hall on September 6. Immersive Lineup Revealed for 80th Venice International Film Festival
The full Venice Immersive lineup, the XR (Extended Reality) section of the 80th Venice International Film Festival, has been announced today. Described as being “entirely devoted to immersive media” and encompassing “all XR means of creative expression,” the program will be held just a short distance from the Lido on the island Lazzaretto Vecchio (dubbed Immersive Island for the fest). Fantasia International Film Festival Announces Third Wave of 2023 Programming
Fantasia International Film Festival announces today the third wave of titles for its 2023 lineup, with first and second wave titles revealed earlier this spring. The 27th edition of the festival will run from July 20 through August 9 at Montreal’s Concordia Hall Cinema, with additional screenings to be held at the J.A.
