Trailer Watch: Hong Sangsoo’s Walk Up
Just a few months after The Novelist’s Film hit theaters, prolific South Korean director Hong Sangsoo returns with Walk Up. Both films were programmed during the 60th edition of the New York Film Festival this past fall, and as such Film at Lincoln Center will open Walk Up on March 24. Film at Lincoln Center and MoMA Announce Lineup for New Directors/New Films 2023
Today, Film at Lincoln Center and MoMA announce the lineup for New Directors/New Films 2023, which will run from March 29-April 9 in New York City. MUBI has released the trailer for The Five Devils, French filmmaker Léa Mysius’s sophomore feature following her 2017 debut Ava. The film stars Adèle Exarchopolous as a woman whose daughter Vicky (Sally Dramé) possesses an unusual magical quality. Christian Petzold returns to the Berlinale this year with Afire, the second installment of his elemental trilogy following 2020’s water-inspired Undine and preceding a forthcoming film about earth. Today, the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, New York announced the festival lineup for First Look 2023, which will take place from March 15-19. Featuring 38 films (including 19 features) from around the globe, the twelfth edition of the festival will showcase new work from long-renowned directors as well as exciting work from emerging filmmakers.
