It’s our world premiere tonight and we’ve got a day packed with final preparations, the premiere, party and hopefully not too much panic! My Arrival. Well, I made it. I’m in Austin for SXSW 2010 to premiere my documentary film, The Weird World of Blowfly. About 2-1/2 years of shooting and editing, endless phone calls, countless emails, and probably 50,000 airline miles to get to this moment. The San Francisco Film Society and the Kenneth Rainen Foundation just announced the ten finalists for the third SFFS/KRF Filmmaking Grant. The grant (up to $190,000) will be awarded to the feature film that best exemplifies a social justice theme with a potentially significant economic or social effect on the Bay Area filmmaking community. Over the next five years SFFS and KRF plan to give out a number of grants that will total $3 million.
